Competiton

The ballet competition is open to dancers ages 7 to 25 and is an opportunity for young dancers to showcase their skills and be recognized for their talent in the ballet community. The competition is judged by a panel of experienced instructors and professional dancers, who will evaluate the dancers' technical ability, artistry, and stage presence. The competition is a great way for young dancers to gain exposure and valuable experience in the ballet world, and for the winners, it can be a stepping stone to a professional dance career.

Masterclass

The MBIC Masterclass are a great opportunity for dancers of all ages to learn from experienced ballet instructors and professional dancers. These masterclasses provide a chance for dancers to gain valuable experience and knowledge in the field of dance.

Rules

Registration process:

Contestants are required to complete the registration form and submit it along with a government ID for age proof via mail to reg@motiondancecomp.in
Forms must be printed, filled by hand with appropriate signatures, scanned and sent back via mail. You can also use the free app Adobe Scan to scan via phone or take a clear picture of the filled forms and send it to us via mail.
Participants opting in more than one category have to fill a separate form for each performance.
On approval, they must pay the fees via the online transfer and provide their music files in mp3 format.
All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

Competition registration fee includes:

Competition entry and award ceremony
1 Masterclass Class (2 hours)
Professional Photos and Videos of your performance

Jury

Expert professionals in the realm of dance have been selected to evaluate the competition.
Short feedback will be given in written format.
Their verdict will be conclusive and binding.

Variation & Time Limits:

Participants are free to choose their own variations.
Variation or solo: not more than 2 min 30 sec
Group: 2-6 members: not more than 3 min

Attire

Participants are required to wear appropriate costumes for both the Classical and Modern segments of the performances.
During the Masterclass, it is expected that participants will dress in attire that is consistent with standard class attire, which includes leotards, dance tights, ballet shoes and hair styled in a neat bun.
Additionally, participants are prohibited from wearing watches, phones, or any other accessories during the Masterclass and competition performances.

Awards

All participants will receive a certificate.
Deserving participants will receive scholarships.
3rd, 2nd, 1st place winners will receive awards.
Special Platinum award for recognition of excellence.
The Jury reserves the right not to award all prizes.

Judges

KHOOSHOO DALLAS

Khushcheher Dallas, is the Director of The School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance. Fondly known as Khooshoo, she personifies hard work, dedication and loving what you do for a living.

Post her Ballet training in Mumbai, Khooshoo was offered a scholarship to the RAD college for the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance (LRAD) program. She graduated in 1993 along with obtaining her Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD). She is also a Licentiate of the ISTD (LISTD).

Known for her vibrant personality, she successfully introduced other styles of dance in her school like Modern Theatre, Jazz and Latin American. She was the first in India to organise the ISTD exams in these genres.

Extremely passionate about dance and teaching, Khooshoo will be achieving the tremendous milestone of teaching Ballet, Modern Theatre and Latin American dance for 30 years this year!

SASHA SHETTY

Sasha has been trained in Russian Classical Ballet under Mrs. Galina Lykhova and the Russian Embassy for 13 years, where she taught and choreographed for two years.

She was also a scholarship student with the Joffrey Ballet School NYC in their full time ballet trainee program.

She has also been a part of Navdhara india dance theatre on their tour to Mexico and Taiwan. Apart from this has also been a part of many shows around the world separately.

Sasha has been one of the core members of the Danceworx academy and the main company as an instructor and choreographer.

Sasha has been invited as a guest teacher in n number of schools in Delhi and Mumbai.

She has also been a part of a few plays as a choreographer with the prestigious NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA.

Sasha has also worked in numerous music videos, tv commercials and movies.

NEERAJ LOHANI

Neeraj started dancing at the age of 15, but took up professional training not until he turned 18. After completing 2 years of training in New Delhi, Neeraj received a scholarship at Sumeet Nagdev Dance Arts (SNDA) in Mumbai in 2014. At SNDA, his primary subjects of training were Modern Contemporary, Jazz and Modern Ballet alongside other subjects including Hip-Hop, Gymnastics, Kathak, Aerial Silk and Kalaripayattu. Neeraj completed his graduation in SNDA’s Full-time Professional Dance Certification (PDC) program in 2018. A year earlier, in June 2017, Neeraj received a 6-week full scholarship at the American Dance Festival (ADF).

Neeraj got the opportunity to perform in Serendipity arts festival where performed "PURUSH" choreographed by Robert Moses. He was one of the semi finalists in one of the prestigious Contemporary Dance Awards in India

(PECDA). Neeraj also worked as a company member with Mystic Ballet USA, Connecticut, where he performed in productions like Nutcracker , Flash and The little mermaid.
